About BuidlGuidl
BuidlGuidl is a collective of active Ethereum builders focused on educating developers, building decentralized tools, and nurturing a thriving onchain ecosystem. Powered by BuidlGuidl.com, the initiative supports builders from their first smart contract tutorial to advanced DeFi app development, offering mentorship, funding, and real-world coding challenges.
Created by Ethereum educator Austin Griffith, BuidlGuidl is the home of Speedrun Ethereum, Scaffold-ETH 2, and countless other tools that equip developers to prototype and ship Web3 apps faster. From first-time contributors to seasoned smart contract engineers, BuidlGuidl provides a full-stack developer playground tailored to growing Web3 from the grassroots up.
BuidlGuidl is a curated developer community helping to grow the Ethereum ecosystem through education, tooling, mentorship, and funding. The journey begins with Speedrun Ethereum, a guided course for learning smart contract development using Scaffold-ETH. From there, developers can join monthly Batches, submit their own dApps, and even qualify for ETH-based grants known as Builder Streams.
What makes BuidlGuidl unique is its focus on actionable learning and public goods. Participants are encouraged to create forkable, open-source tools and prototypes that serve the broader Ethereum ecosystem. Whether it’s building multisig wallets, NFT frameworks, or educational dashboards, BuidlGuidl is a launchpad for developers to contribute meaningfully—and visibly—to Web3.
The project has released and maintains core tooling such as Scaffold-ETH 2, a modern Ethereum development framework combining Next.js, Wagmi, RainbowKit, and TypeScript. Developers can fork hundreds of featured builds, such as abi.ninja, address.vision, PunkWallet, and MultiSig as a Service, to accelerate development cycles or launch new ideas in days.
BuidlGuidl has also introduced Cohort Streams—onchain programmable payment flows that distribute ETH to developers actively contributing toward high-impact goals. These Cohort Streams are forkable and represent a novel way to reward aligned builders over time.
BuidlGuidl operates alongside similar developer communities such as buildspace and ETHGlobal, but with a unique focus on long-term retention and open-source tooling. Unlike bootcamps or hackathons, BuidlGuidl supports builders after their first contribution with mentorship, visibility, and recurring rewards—turning learners into leaders.
BuidlGuidl offers powerful benefits for Ethereum developers of all skill levels:

BuidlGuidl FAQ
To join BuidlGuidl, developers must first complete the first four challenges from Speedrun Ethereum, a series of hands-on coding tutorials using Scaffold-ETH. These challenges introduce you to Solidity, smart contract deployment, and building dApps with modern tooling like Scaffold-ETH 2. Once completed, you're eligible to apply to a BuidlGuidl onboarding Batch.
Builder Streams are smart contracts that stream ETH to active BuidlGuidl contributors over 30-day cycles. Developers who continuously build, share, or support ecosystem tools may be granted a stream—unlocking ETH as they work. Streamed ETH can be withdrawn at any point based on your submitted contributions. Learn more at BuidlGuidl.com.
BuidlGuidl encourages developers to create forkable, open-source apps that benefit the Web3 ecosystem. Projects range from multisig wallets, NFT tools, DEX interfaces, educational tools, to governance experiments. There's no limit on creativity—your submission just needs a working prototype, a clear README, and to be built with Scaffold-ETH or related tools.
BuidlGuidl is beginner-friendly and designed for developers of all experience levels. Through Speedrun Ethereum, onboarding Batches, and peer mentorship, even first-time Web3 devs can quickly level up. Many BuidlGuidl members started with no smart contract experience and went on to publish tools, win hackathons, and earn Builder Streams. Join at BuidlGuidl.com.
Unlike most dev communities focused only on education or hackathons, BuidlGuidl provides ongoing support, mentorship, and ETH funding. Its focus on open-source, public goods and forkable tools means developers contribute real value to Ethereum.
